Who this practice is

Counseling services on this site are provided by Ida Villavicencio, M.A. Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor, through The Red Jay Counseling and Guidance LLC, a Texas limited liability company. "This practice," "I," and "we" throughout these pages refer to that entity.

Statement of non-discriminatory practices

This practice strives to provide counseling in a way that does not discriminate on the basis of religion or creed, age, race, class, sex, gender, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.

Confidentiality and privacy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a counselor, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. Exceptions include:

• Suspected child abuse, or abuse of a dependent adult or elder, which I am required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
• If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, in which case I must notify the police and inform the intended person.
• If a client intends to harm themselves, in which case I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation to ensure their safety, and if they do not cooperate, I will take further lawful measures to keep them safe.
